Punta Loma Protected Natural Area

It is a Natural Tourist Reserve that covers 1,707 hectares of mountain plains and plateaus, located in the Department of Biedma, about 16 km from the city of Puerto Madryn.

Among Its conservation objectives include preserving and protecting nature in all aspects of its flora, fauna and gea, in its native species or manifestations; seek to return it to the pristine degree in all cases in which strange factors have modified it and make it accessible to man, for scientific and / or tourist purposes under the conditions established by the regulations.

The reserve has management category of Habitat / Species Management Area. In it, it was possible to certify the establishment of a stable Rock cormorant colony throughout the year, which allowed the study of the species in terms of its post-reproductive behavior, resulting in their fidelity to the colony and there is no dispersal of individuals post reproductive stage.

Tourism

The area is open to visitors and on average it is stipulated that it receives the visit of 57,600 people annually.
