Puerto Pirámides

CHARACTERISTICS

Puerto Pirámides is the only town within the Peninsula Valdés, a territory declared a Natural World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is a small town within a bay surrounded by cliffs, with a fine sand beach and its own microclimate. It is the gateway to make sightings of the southern right whale, one of the most extraordinary experiences of contact with marine fauna in the world.
For having a protected geography – it was born as a natural port for the exploitation of the salt flats of the peninsula -, Pirámides offers the possibility of enjoying its beaches for several months a year sheltered from the winds. And because it is in a semi-desert region, rains are scarce and sunny days.
Puerto Pirámides is not just whales and the beach. In an environment of singular beauty, multiple activities are offered, where nature and adventure are mixed. Diving in crystal clear waters and natural reefs, horseback riding, trekking, mountain biking, water sports such as kayaking and stand up paddle, are some of the options, not to mention excursions to the rest of the peninsula and its nature reserves with sea lions and elephant seals. , among many other species.

LOCATION

Located in the Northeast of the province, within the Peninsula Valdés, Puerto Pirámides is 1430 kilometers from Buenos Aires, 99 from Puerto Madryn and 158 from Trelew. It is accessed by Provincial Route 2, which enters the peninsula from National Route 3.
