Protected Natural Area Cabo Dos Bahías
It is a Comprehensive Objective Tourist Nature Reserve covering 160 hectares of the Patagonian Steppe, located in the Florentino Ameghino Department.
Its conservation objectives include preserving portions of land and sea along with its flora and fauna, and at the same time providing a recreational and educational space for those who visit it.
Outstanding flora and fauna species:
The area is classified as a Habitat / Species Management Area to conserve and protect biodiversity and the coastal environment. It is of a great ornithological wealth, they are found there: flightless steam duck (the only area where you can see this bird), cormorants, petrels and Magellanic penguins that use the area to reproduce.
We also find mammals: one-haired and two-haired sea lions, guanacos, furry, among others.
Tourism
On average it is stipulated that it receives the visit of 10,800 people annually, with the specific use of the Protected Area being tourism.
The nature of reserve for the care of the species that inhabit the place resides in the vulnerability that they have before human contact and other situations that are polluting because they alter life and habitat, such as noise, waste and different disturbances. that can be caused without due knowledge, guidance and responsibility when transiting the area.

It can be accessed from Camarones by Provincial Route N°. 1 heading South, distant 28 km., Traveling by gravel road.
